A poor boy gets called to a mysterious mill by a voice in his dreams. Once there, he quickly realizes that not everything is what it first seemed to be, especially the master of the mill. Krabat learns the tricks of the milling trade, but also learns about magic, the values of friendship, strange rituals and that love is stronger than evil.
