This report depicts the United Nations in the midst of a dramatic transformation. The Organization continues to adapt peace-keeping to new circumstances, bringing greater coherence to development efforts and move definitively toward creating an institution devoted to enhanced performance, full accountability and increased cost-effectiveness. With the aim of achieving an international system based on collective security, shared values and co-operative problem-solving, this text consolidates the reforms and results achieved so far by the United Nations.
