Young heiress Jeanne de la Mesurier has returned to London to re-join her stepmother, following a childhood in a French convent where she has been since her father’s death. Despite her high status young Jeanne is poor, and so together with the nefarious Major Forrest, Jeanne sets out to scam and prey on her young suitors.
