    The Covid-19 pandemic has entered our lives unexpectedly, bringing with it manychanges for which we were not prepared. These have not only affected individuals, their healthand personal situations, but have also affected businesses and entire national economies. Thecrisis has caught society in the Industry 4.0 phase, which is an equally significant driver ofchange and transformation. Businesses are looking for ways to make optimal use of technology,increase the pace of innovation and adapt to changes in their environment.People are the key element that co-creates the prosperity and success of an organization.This monograph brings a fresh perspective on the changes that have occurred in peoplemanagement under the impact of the pandemic. It traces how the new situation has affectedestablished practices, describes the steps that businesses took in the days of the pandemic,captures how these have transformed, become a source of learning and influenced the currentapproach to human resource management.The content of the publication is divided into three thematic units. An introductorysection is devoted to the role of human resource management in the current crisis. It examineshow the crisis has affected human resource management processes, describing the situation notonly from the perspective of companies but also from the perspective of the employeesthemselves, who have been subjected to enormous psychological strain. The necessary socialdistance led to a loss of psychological security and required an adequate response frommanagement.
